Geo Metro Racing
Because of its reputation as a very stringent automobile for gas, the Geo Metro
suffered loss of power. Some owners loved the car but craved for speed. Its lightweight
body was beneficial for speed. If only a stronger engine was installed. GM heeded
the call and they did, thus the birth of the
Geo Metro racing. The Geo Metro at the start had a measly 1.0 liter 3 cylinder engine which evolved
later on to receive a bit of upgrade with a 1.3 liter engine with 4 cylinders.

The 1995-1997 4 cylinders Geo Metro were given 8 valve SOHC engines, the 1998
and later are 16 valve SOHC engines to develop the Geo Metro racing car. These
gave the Geo Metro more speed which was coupled with the great handling. Many
owners modified other aspects of the other car to make it even faster. Aftermarket
parts were utilized to achieve the speed they needed and wanted.
